An Evening with Amy Rigby (Livestream from Gild Hall)
February 5 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Archived stream available on-demand for 48 hours after the performance
Amy Rigby has been writing, performing and recording her transcendent songs about everyday life for over thirty years, first with bands Last Roundup and the Shams in NYC’s East Village, then as a solo artist beginning with classic album Diary Of A Mod Housewife up through The Old Guys (2018) and A One Way Ticket To My Life: 4 Track Demos (2019). She has appeared on Mountain Stage, World Cafe, NPR’s All Things Considered and was recently interviewed by Terry Gross for Fresh Air. Her first book, Girl To City: A Memoir was published last year and is now out as a podcast.
Amy will play songs written during the pandemic, share stories from her book and get in some favorites/forgotten numbers from her catalog.
“…one of the country’s best songwriters, with a mordant wit and keen eye for emotional detail.” – Chicago Reader
“Singer-songwriter…doesn’t fully describe Rigby’s immense gifts and her devotion to the kind of pop and rock music that singer-songwriters often neglect.” – Nashville Scene
