Bands and Brews
Hey, it's the end of one of our most successful seasons ever! But there's no way we're going out on a cancelled show. Come on out this Friday May 8th and help us celebrate a great year at the Gild Hall. Here's what we have planned:
From 7pm until 8pm Dogfish Head will be in the building doing a special tasting of their music themed beers. They've been a fantastically supportive partner of the Arden Concert Gild for a while now, and this is just the beginning of what we hope will be many co-productions.
We also are featuring FIVE up and coming regional bands with music starting right around 8pm.
Widow Maker Social Club
Jupiter Records will be spinning during the tasting and between bands!
Tickets are $7 at the door. Members pay just $5!
Details on the bands
Formed by brothers Henry and Samuel Bellingham while living in Los Angeles in 2013. After attending high school in Wilmington, Delaware, the brothers lived in LA for five years during which they studied music, played in various self-imploding musical groups and, finally, decided to strike off as a duo. The music is made with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments and uses ambient textures to obscure the formal pop song structures. When their first work – “Tracker” – received a wave of attention they then recorded and co-produced the remaining four songs on their debut EP, “Thunderhank EP,” released April 29th 2014.

The 5 members of Widow Maker Social Club have been together for a long time. Not since college or even high school, rather, going to Kindergarten with each other, buying first instruments together, getting through the awkward early 20’s together, old band breakups to new band makeups, becoming uncles together and burying their loved ones together. They do all things together.
Lead Vocalist and Pianist Matthew Ooi started crafting the band’s early songs in the childhood home of drummer Michael O’Boyle over 3 years ago in Wilmington, Delaware. The addition of bassist Nicholas DeMaio and guitarists Jose Lopez and Christopher DeJoseph completed the original lineup and the band spent its 1st year in an unfinished basement writing what would become their debut EP entitled ‘Revolutions’.
